Transylvania's Hidden Treasures

I had the most wonderful afternoon today, and to think I nearly didn't go! I thought of my newsletter that I should translate into English, the leaves that need raking on the grass... all manner of reasons. Then I remembered, I'm meant to do an "artist date" a week, just for me, just for fun. So I went to see the exhibition, Transylvania's Hidden Treasures at the Kulturstiftung Basel H. Geiger (KBH.G). So amazing! So cool! So everything I look for in an exhibition. Beautiful hand crafted ceramics (I have a weak spot for ceramics), gorgeous hand embroidered textiles (I studied textile design a zillion years ago) AND to round it all off the most gorgeous fashion exhibition inspired by Transylvanian crafts by JJ Martin. I got my sketchbook out and drew solidly till 5.30pm, then had a pleasant chat with Tina, the lovely ornithologist welcoming visitors. An afternoon well spent. The exhibition is on till Sunday in Basel. Do go if you have the chance.
