Tied to the Kitchen Sink
I burn for women's rights and equality. As a former president of the Women's Career Network in Vienna and a female artist, I am aware women are still under represented in art.
Sometimes this feeling of not being taken seriously as an artist because of being a female artist expresses itself in my work. I was fascinated by this kitchen sink and the lovely colours and shapes - can you spot the man in the background? A bit of a shady presence...
In 1950s Britain there were a group of artists called the "Kitchen Sink Painters" because they painted every day situations in the home.
This kitchen sink can actually be found at 2100m above sea level, where I was painting for every summer from 2019 - 2022.
Now its preserved as a beautiful bit of "household art". Why not hang it in your kitchen? I love having art in the kitchen, it cheers you up no end - and look, there's no washing up!
I will send this to you in a cardboard mount, carefully wrapped in cellophane and lovingly packaged with cardboard so it arrives in great condition, ready for framing.
