I spent a delightful January 2023 in Cheesmeyer - an historic cafe serving food, a meeting point for various activities and offering cultural events in Sissach, Switzerland.

The result of this time is a portfolio of work showing various aspects of cafe culture, the meeting of friends and enjoyment of concerts. 

When painting these pictures I was interested in the feeling, the vibe, the warmth I felt emanating from this building and its guests and staff. 

In this piece I concentrated on the men that happened to be enjoying a meeting with friends, a coffee break or working in a public space. There is not a single woman in the picture.
