I spent a delightful January 2023 in Cheesmeyer - an historic cafe serving food, a meeting point for various activities and offering cultural events in Sissach, Switzerland.

The result of this time is a portfolio of work showing various aspects of cafe culture, the meeting of friends and enjoyment of concerts. 

When painting these pictures I was interested in the feeling, the vibe, the warmth I felt emanating from this building and its guests and staff. 

To paint this picture I turned the other way, facing out of the window into the street. That's why you can't see a cafe on it! This beautiful old house opposite has been lovingly renovated and would look wonderful in a cosy corner as it welcomes you in. 

I will send it to you carefully wrapped and then you can hang it in a frame of your choice to enjoy for a long time.
