I spent a delightful January 2023 in Cheesmeyer - an historic cafe serving food, a meeting point for various activities and offering cultural events in Sissach, Switzerland.

The result of this time is a portfolio of work showing various aspects of cafe culture, the meeting of friends and enjoyment of concerts. 

When painting these pictures I was interested in the feeling, the vibe, the warmth I felt emanating from this building and its guests and staff. 

I painted this during a concert given by Swiss soul singer Ira May with her musical partner on the guitar. It is an atmospheric piece, perfect if you are a singer or a musician, or just love music! Can't you hear it?
