I am extremely proud to have been involved in the short fantasy film based on "Das Schwarze Auge" (The Dark Eye) - the German equivalent of the pen and paper game "Dungeons and Dragons". I was on set as resident artist.

The premiere of the short fantasy film “Eine Nacht in Tobrien” (One Night in Tobrien) is happening at Pathe Küchlin in Basel on 9th May. 

I’ll be there with my original “making of” drawings and a small selection of film merch in the cinema foyer – come say hi - tickets are available here.

The pre-premiere of the film at Ratcon 25 in Germany won a standing ovation! – an unforgettable moment.

Huge congratulations to Florian Moritz (director), Lennart Lafaire (screenwriter), and Samuel Fischer (set designer). Filmed entirely in Baselland, this project shows the magic of handmade craftsmanship. Creating with care, patience, and human touch – without relying on special effects or AI – brings a kind of emotional resonance that digital imagery alone cannot replicate.

I was the resident artist:
Crafted props like the Tobrien map
Designed the woodcut poster
Documented the process in “making of” drawings (also in the end credits!)

The film stars Annalena Miano, Cécile Gschwind, Gabriel Stohler-Mauch and Mateo Gudenrath and my husband, Michael Laubscher.

Wir feiern die Premiere unseres Kurzfilms in der Schweiz! Am 9. Mai in Basel um genau zu sein.
Damit möglichst viele von euch dabei sein können, ist der Eintritt frei. Alles, was ihr tun müsst, ist euch vorab unter www.tobrien.de Tickets zu holen.
Wir werden natürlich selbst vor Ort sein – gemeinsam mit einem Großteil der dem Cast und der Crew. Neben dem Film selbst wird es eine Ausstellung mit Kunst zum Film, eine Fragerunde mit uns sowieso eine anschließende Aftershow Party geben.
