Film: Eine Nacht in Tobrien (One Night in Tobrien)

Liebe DSA-Fans,

I'm delighted to announce that there will be an exhibition in the actual original set especially created for the short film "Eine Nacht in Tobrien" 26 - 28 September 2025!
Do come by and smell the wonderful notes of worn leather and old wood - enjoy the atmosphere, my drawings, original props etc! AND you can even purchase my work - so you can take some of the magic home with you!

Vernissage: Friday, 26. September, 5 - 11pm

Sat. 27 - Sun. 28 September: 2 - 6pm

Theatermühle Arisdorf, Hauptstrasse 76a, CH-4422 Arisdorf

The prepremiere of the film at Ratcon 25 in Germany won a standing ovation! It was an amazing experience and a big congratulations to Florian Moritz the director, Lennart Lafaire who wrote the script and Samuel Fischer, who built the scenery with exceptional attention to detail. It was all filmed locally, which is quite amazing considering we are in rural Switzerland.

For me, this confirms how important it is to create work that is made by hand, crafted carefully and lovingly without special effects and ai - this human experience moves us in ways computer generated images will never be able to do.

I am extremely proud to have been involved in the short fantasy film based on "Das Schwarze Auge" (The Dark Eye) - the German equivalent of the pen and paper game "Dungeons and Dragons". I was on set as resident artist.

I made several of the props (such as the map of Tobrien), designed the film poster (a woodcut print) and drew the "making of". My drawings also feature in the end credits. I'm hoping to be able to print my "Making of" drawings as a book in the near future. I'll keep you posted.

I'm offering some merch items - which is a bit scary, but it is an amazing project to be involved in. Actors include Annalena Miano, Cécile Gschwind, Gabriel Stohler-Mauch and Mateo Gudenrath and my husband, Michael Laubscher.
