Waiting captures a quiet moment of everyday life in a café or bar. A woman leans against the counter, waiting, while a figure stands behind it. Suspended between interaction and solitude, the scene invites us to imagine the story unfolding between them.

Painted in expressive layers of acrylic and Neocolor, the work explores light, colour and the poetry of ordinary encounters. The glowing pendant lamps, rich blues and purples, and warm wooden surfaces create an intimate atmosphere, transforming a familiar interior into something quietly dreamlike.

An original figurative painting on paper by Swiss-British artist Sibylle Laubscher.

On display for the first time since its making in Basel from mid-November
