Independent Artist Residency in Switzerland | Time and Space to Create

Imagine a week devoted entirely to your art. No everyday distractions. No competing demands. Just time, space and the freedom to explore your creative ideas.

Perhaps you are working on a new project, searching for fresh inspiration or simply longing for uninterrupted time to draw, paint, experiment and think.

I invite you to spend a creative residency at my atelier in Arisdorf, a peaceful Swiss village just 15 minutes from Basel.

Surrounded by a beautiful garden and the gentle rhythms of rural life, you can concentrate on your own work while enjoying the opportunity to exchange ideas with another practising artist.

Your Own Creative Retreat

A Little House in the Garden

Stay in my charming, simply furnished tiny house, tucked away in the garden. Formerly run as a bed and breakfast, it offers a private and peaceful place to relax after a day of creative exploration.

The accommodation includes an en-suite shower, giving you your own space during your stay.

A Studio for Your Artistic Practice

You will have access to an artist's workspace with an easel and table, where you can develop your own projects at your own pace.

A selection of art materials, including gouache, crayons and charcoal, is available, together with my library of art books for inspiration and research.

Artistic Exchange and Mentoring

One of the pleasures of an artist residency is the opportunity to exchange ideas.

As a professional painter and printmaker, I can offer constructive feedback, individual mentoring and conversations about your artistic practice.

My own work explores the relationship between humanity and nature, imagination and the search for beauty and meaning. I have also spent over a decade studying art philosophy, asking questions such as: What makes a work of art a work of art?

Whether you would like a thoughtful discussion about your work, a fresh perspective or simply the pleasure of exchanging ideas with another artist, these conversations can become an inspiring part of your stay.

Having experienced the value of artist residencies and intensive professional development myself, including the Turps Banana Summer Intensive in London and the International Summer Academy in Salzburg, I know how transformative a period of focused creative work can be. A change of surroundings, conversations with other artists and the freedom to experiment can open unexpected new directions. I would love to offer visiting artists a similarly inspiring experience here in Switzerland.

My garden and the surrounding countryside offer opportunities for observation, drawing and quiet reflection.

You might choose to work directly from nature, explore new ideas in your sketchbook or simply allow yourself the luxury of following your imagination wherever it leads.

Duration: Individual stays arranged by agreement, with a week-long residency as a starting point.

Accommodation: Private garden tiny house with en-suite shower.

Studio: Artist's workspace with easel and table.
