A Christmas tree, glowing with light and memories.

Golden baubles shimmer among the branches of a small Christmas tree, while a bright red bird, delicate ornaments and a little angel bring colour and character to the scene. At its base, Christmas cards and treasured decorations complete this intimate festive arrangement.

In Christmas Tree 2023, Sibylle Laubscher captures the quiet magic of Christmas through expressive brushwork and a luminous palette of golden yellows, olive greens, soft creams and touches of vibrant red.

The painting celebrates the beauty of a Christmas tree decorated with personal treasures. Each ornament seems to carry its own story, recalling the rituals, memories and traditions that return with the festive season.

The loose, energetic brushstrokes allow the branches, decorations and glowing lights to merge into a rich tapestry of colour. Moving between observation and abstraction, the familiar tree becomes an almost dreamlike image, filled with warmth and life.

An original contemporary Christmas painting that invites us to pause, look more closely and rediscover the wonder of simple festive traditions.

A joyful artwork to bring warmth, colour and a little Christmas enchantment into your home - or an alternative to putting up a tree!
