A moment of everyday life, full of colour, character and untold stories.

A lively café scene unfolds across the painting. In the foreground, people lean towards one another in conversation, while a solitary figure sits reading in the background. Other figures appear at the edge of the scene, creating a fascinating interplay between intimacy and distance, togetherness and solitude.

Inside Outside explores the subtle relationships between people sharing a space. Some are deeply engaged with one another, others seem lost in their own thoughts. Each person inhabits a world of their own, yet all are connected by the atmosphere of the café.

Rich reds, warm yellows, vibrant pinks and deep blues bring energy to the composition. Expressive brushstrokes and shifting perspectives give the painting a sense of movement, capturing the fleeting gestures and encounters of everyday life.

There is something wonderfully human about these ordinary moments. A conversation, a glance, a quiet pause. The painting invites us to look more closely and imagine the stories unfolding around us.

An original contemporary figurative painting that brings colour, warmth and the pleasure of human connection into your home.

On display for the first time since its making in Basel from mid-November
