Pool Games
I love relocating my studio to the local public swimming pool on hot days. And when I work on location, I don't want to paint everything I can see but absorb the atmosphere and recreate it on my paper or canvas. So that you can enjoy the immediacy and undiluted response to the location when you hang the work on your wall.
The best thing is also the feedback from the kids. While doing this, 2 young boys came up and said, "corr she can paint 3-D!" That's the challenge when painting: you take what you see and feel with your senses and transfer it into 2D. If I use a camera to do this, then a machine has done the most important part of an artist's job for me. Which is why I always prefer painting from life.
So enjoy this piece, hang it in your bathroom, pool house or anywhere really to take a cool dip into every now and then!
